I went by a few pawn shops over the holiday weekend and found this Squier Jaguar. Love the guitar but I cannot figure out why the headstock says "Fender" vs. "Squier". The serial on the back says Indonesian build in '11. Has anyone seen another Jaguar VM HH with a Fender designation?
Thanks and great board here.
You have to go with swapped decal, here. There's just no reason to believe otherwise.
I've never heard of a Fender branded Indonesian guitar. EVERYTHING about this thing, save the decal, is 100% in line with the Squier VM product.
Might be the picture quality but that "Jaguar" font looks pretty home schooled to me.
It's obviously a Squire, but the decal is applied really well- it's very difficult to make out the decal outline- and there are no marks where the other decal was removed. I bought the guitar at a pawn shop in a "country" part of town so it's hard for me to imagine someone taking the time and energy to order a decal and replace it. Is it possible it's a first run/semi-prototype version? I mean IF it's a factory applied decal- just to assume that- could it be a factory demo or something like that?
laterallateral- the Jaguar portion of the decal has "spots" like the cat- it's definitely professionally done- hard to pick up in photos.
Duncan Designed Pickups?
That odd Rhombicular Bridge?
That suspiciously low price?
My friend, someone has slapped the fender logo on a Vintage Modified Squier Jaguar! Trust no one!
Thanks Drew. I know it's a VM Jag and will always be a VM Jag- NTTAWWT. I'm just curious about the badging. The energy someone must have taken to try to make this look like a Fender is dumbfounding to me. BTW- paid $165 for the guitar and it's a nice player.
