Awesome gig tonight with this thing. Stayed in tune for the most part considering what I was doing to it... went a little flat but only retuned twice in an hour set. I do hit the switches though, turning more pickups on and making it sound duller . Will have to modify strumming .
It doesn't seem to return to equilibrium. With a Jag or Strat trem, you push down and let go and it comes all the way back to pitch. With this trem you push down and it returns VERY close to pitch but is flat. If you then pull the arm up a little it is back in tune. The same goes for when you pull it sharp. Not sure how to fix that... the spring is new.
Do you hear any mechanical noise? It might be the case that the spring moves slightly from its normal resting position and stays in that position after using the trem.
Also, look for any points that might benefit from being lubricated, like the pivot points of the bar that the strings go through.
I did pencil the nut when I restrung it.
It is interesting, I'm pretty sure the strings are all resting on the zero fret and not on the nut... which is probably bad for intonation but I haven't noticed it. Nut dis deep and wide for each string.
Filed down and polished zero fret so there is no snagging, lubed nut with graphite and vaseline, disected cleaned and lubed trem and same problem... I think the spring isn't strong enough for 11s... it just just slightly flat after use unless you manually bring it back up to where it should be, then it is in perfect tune. It is a minute difference in the angle of the strings behind the bridge which makes the note a little flat.
