Thanks all. Here are some decent pictures. The sun captures the shade of red quite well...

Just had Dave over and he seemed to get on with it. Still needs a few odds and sods done to it but overall very happy. I have a mint guard and black hardware reverse colour scheme up my sleeve but I'm digging this at the moment.

It will need another reverse shim as the bridge pickup cannot get as high as I want but I'm running out of drop on the TOM now so now it becomes a balancing act. That bloody rotary will have to be rewired too. Lastly the trem may have to be slightly moved to one side and redrilled to move the trem arm away from the b string.

Noirie - Yeah, uhh... didn't come with strap buttons lol. I'll get round to that soon.

Paul - Despite the lack of jangle I'm going to stick with it for a bit. It feels good in my hands so it might be just a case updating amp and pedal EQs for a while.

Fran - one draft had that Strat curve but I thought the Bronco shape gave it a bit of quirkiness.

Thanks. I think the red might polarise people haha.

I forgot also to say thanks to Adam. He's been really great along the way with this.

Lastly, I see these in its immediate future:

Colour scheme works really well. How many combos of sounds can it do, or supposed to do?

That's really nice. It kinda looks like a baritone.
Congratulations! Your Punkacc9 evolved into Awstin.

Strap buttons installed. Strap is a fantastic match and really helps sets off the 60s Hoefner scheme. Though it was not an overly complicated job it felt good to get it right first time, straight, tight, no hiccups. I skipped masking tape though which was a bit naughty.

BUT YOU SAID IT WAS COOL SHIT STEWART

Yeah, I had my doubts but had faith in it being a mash up of things I think are best. I know that people aren't too keen (generally) on the colour scheme, which most have been gracious enough to keep under the breaths (two-faced cunts) or there are those who have just not commented at all . A tough lot that it isn't the prettiest but I didn't want go down the cream/tort or daphne/white avenue or typical eye candy colours. I LOVE the colours now. With some abuse and dirt it will look excellent.

That said, as Punkacc9 pointed out the neck does look and feel a little long like a baritone at times.

Addressed some more snagging today...

- Hadn't even grounded bridge yet. Horrific buzzing CURED.
- Routed out trem cavity a little deeper.
- Splashed out on ridiculously expensive white witch hats (kind of a necessity to stop knocking the volume), AND a Wilkinson roller bridge.

Very nearly finished finished.

yeah, i missed out the '/' between those two words.

what i mean is, i don't like bronco shaped guards, which is why i suggested the mustang one, but that would have looked well wonky at full scale. i think you made the right choice. it looks really good.

Haha.

It's regrettable I couldn't go full Mustang in the end with control plate. I would love a Mussy with a Jazzy trem though. The one on here with staytrem is the sex. I don't care how expensive people say they are.
