Nice! Love the shape of those DC Melody Makers, but I gave up on trying to score a cheapish one (surprisingly easy) when I started building those DC Jrs and got hooked on P90s. Still, if I had the cash and spotted a good deal I'd likely jump on it.

Always loved guitar shaped like that. My first guitar was a knockoff in a similar color strung lefty. Looks good.

Thanks! Where can I find a hardshell case for this? It doesn't fit in a Les Paul case.

It's interesting to see how the Melody Maker changed from 1959-1961-1965

It's almost like they just imagined the shape in their head and then just free hand cut it lol.
Congratulations! Your Punkacc9 evolved into Awstin.

I think that's "Ferrari Red" these days (Rosso Scuderia # 905389), don't know if Gibson actually called it "Ferrari Red" back in the '60s though. On cars it was sometimes applied over a pink undercoat to "pop" a little more.

Thanks! It didn't come with the original chipboard case but it fits perfectly in the case that came with my 1980 Firebrand
