Dual Output, Three Humbucker, Black, Jaguar Project

Mr. Punk,
I'm pretty fucking jealous that you can and actually do go through with all these awesome projects. As crazy and overkill as I may think they may be at times, I completely think your projects are the shit.
3 pickups? Go for 5- one behind the bridge and piezo, with the bass pickup in the middle in addition to the standard 2!

Thanks man. Lol. I just like building. And maybe for the next one but this one has already begun and I'm sticking to the plan. Ever since I build The Offset I have been hooked on three pickups. Turning on that 3rd pickup gives such a huge sound. The middle position sounds great.Mo Rawka wrote:Mr. Punk,

Wish I could change my username haha. I just used that username since I was 12 lol. Now I'm just known as punk on here when I am barely even in to or I barely ever listen to punk anymore.. Ha.

Lol. I've said this plenty of times already. Man I should post it on my profile lol. I just work for my family. Don't have anything to spend my money on right now being 18 except instrument stuff, my car, collecting coins, gold & silver, and saving. Haha

I really found it when looking for the mustang, jaguar, and jazzmaster builders. Found offset first but didn't dig it as much as shortscale. Felt like a smaller closer community here haha. That would be a cool thread. "How did you find shortscale?"

I have to agree with this. I think that you pissed off a few people initially, but I am glad you carried on posting and we get to see what you are doing. Mostly I am envious and wish I was 18 again and able to do all this myself! Keep it up.Mo Rawka wrote:I'm pretty fucking jealous that you can and actually do go through with all these awesome projects. I did a similiar project on the same guitar with a WRHB in the bridge and AVRI in the neck. I kept the strangle switch and added out of phase options. I didn't move up the trem plate as far so you could just see the post holes. I believe I traded it to Serfx.

Thanks guys. That's cool thought Taylor. I like it. I guess with my vibrato being closer to the bridge it will look more jaguarillo like when it is done. Just waiting on the Pickguard. I'm gonna route for the middle pickup soon. I think it will look pretty classy with all the chrome.

After 15 minutes of routing I did the swimming pool route yesterday. It came out pretty damn good. Just awaiting the Pickguard now. Some of the wiring is done. Also made the pedal yesterday. It came out FANTASTIC. We used it for practice yesterday with just a single output guitar split to an amp with a Electro Harmonix Octave Multiplexor pedal for the bass and another amp for guitar. It works great though to split to two amps and to turn bass and guitar on and off. I'll post pictures of that later and I'll have a demo up eventually.

the routes look decent, better than anything I could do, but I see what you mean when it comes to now being able to do a body with it; you're lines are all squiggly.Punkacc9 wrote:Thanks. I'm starting to get good at routing but I don't have the room to buy a table router to do body's. I can't get good enough precision on my hand router. At least I give Cooterfinger a lot of business (: lolGeorge wrote:Very tidy rout!

Well the trem route came out good and so did the swimming pool route but the reason it is squiggly is because I don't have a long enough bit to route that deep so for the routes where the pickup screws go I had to lower the bit as much as I could and the top kept catching. If you look on the inside of those deeper routes they are straight. It's just the outsides because of the bit I was using.

I am confused? Is that Cooters' kitchen table or yours with the pickguards on it? When I see the butcher block table I assume it is Cooters'.
When you make your routs on the guitar body you need some sort of a template to make nice routs. Very risky to the project to do it free hand, and I also think not so smart when you have to get your face up close to the project to try and keep in the lines.
With a little bit of scrap wood and some 5 minute epoxy you can make a nice template for about anything in little or no time and get very nice routes.
