'62 Reissue Jag Pickups Recommendations
Had my Jaguar for about 3 years now and I've been thinking recently about putting some more powerful pickups in. To the dudes that have done this, what would you recommended?
(This has probably been asked a million times I'm sorry)

Is it Japanese or American? If it's Japanese pretty much anything will sound more powerful.
Duncan make the "Hot for Jaguar" (got it baaad, got it baaad, got it baaaad) and the Quarter Pounder for Jags
The first phase Antiquity Jag pickup is probably a bit more hot and well-rounded than the AVRI pickups too, though it is aimed at a more vintage sound.

i would never take the AVRI pickups out of my AVRI
that being said i have a set of SJAG-3 quarter pounder pickups in one of my mustangs and a SJAG-1 in my jagstang and love them both
everyone one earth should put a SJAG-1 in thier jagstang. and quit bitching about what the guitar sondz like on the spot

and it really depends on the sound you're after. avri pickups seem to get a more high-output version of a vintage jag -- bright without being brittle, bassy without being brash. sjags are a lot more ballsy and more readily lend themselves to high octane rock. personally, though, i have no complaints about my avri's ability to get some brutal tones. you will be doing yourself a favor, i think, in whatever direction go away from the stock japanese pickups, imho.
If you want hotter, Classic Player Jaguar single coil pickups are supposedly wound hotter than vintage or AVRI.
Some people don't like them, but maybe those are the people who don't think a Jaguar should have hotter than vintage pickups. Other people seem to like them just fine. I can't pass judgement on them myself, because I didn't want hotter pickups, philosophically, so I took them out of the guitar almost instantly after I bought it .
