Got it today. Really nice playing guitar. Im not gonna mod this one as i first thought. The pickups is great.
Really like the feel of the neck. Im used to the nut width 42 mm. Like the medium jumbo frets to.
Anyway its made in mexico.

Very nice- I'd be stuck between the grey and orange if I were picking.

The color is crazy. Looks like grey and black when lights are off. When lights are on it looks dark blue, dark purple.

Agreed, "Cosmic Black"

As far as the slanted pickups go, are there any particular tonal characteristics that the slanting creates? or is it simply a visual gimmick?

No i wouldnt say that. Great humbucking sound. Almost little as a JB.

And thanks speedfish! Its almost staring into outer space, couldnt say it better.

Anyway really proud of this guitar.

for what as robroe would call "scumbag" flakes, that's a great finish. come to think of it, i quite like that finish when fender/squier were using it in the mid-late 90's. seems to have all but disappeared.

They should use that color on other models, it's nice looking.

Congrats!
I am actually hoping that I don't like the new Fender SSs, because if I do, I will get an orange one, then the gun metal, and then I will feel obliged to get the red one. A bit compulsive, I am.
