The Jazz is fine; it's the recommended neck humbucker alongside the JB in the bridge. I'm not a massive fan of neck 'buckers to be honest; I probably prefer it when split to a single coil. One day I may put a HB-sized P90 in the neck position, although it would mean having to modify the guard slightly.

Take some 1500-2000 grit sand paper and wet sand the surface a bit, then lay it in a tuperware with some coffee for a few hours, I've heard that works.
