Fender Bronco

Post by Nizzle_Bizzle »

So I've recently bought a 1976 Fender Bronco. I'm still waiting on delivery but I was just posting to see what people thought!

Bronco 1

Bronco 2

Bronco 3

Hrm.

I want to see this thing but the links are blowing up bbcode. Gimme a sec to see if I can fix that.

Ick. Ebaby changed some shit and now you can't directly link to their shit like that. BBCode can't deal with the weird code variable embedded in the url. I'm not sure how to fix this, can you give me the auction link directly?

Yeah, we can browse to them, but they won't embed unless it's an actual .jpg or whatever. Normally you can right click and copy image url but flickr doesn't allow that either.

Anyway, that's a damn sweet find. Really nice condition! How much did it run you?

Including delivery to the UK around £650 so about $1017.77. Comes with the original hardcase, owners manual and warranty card - unfortunately no trem arm. :(

She's a real looker. Not usually a huge fan of black on black, but this is pure 70s MOJO here.

Yeah, at first I thought it was "too clean" and was a bit suspect but it's from a licenced Fender dealer so if you can't trust them who can you trust?

It was sold on Ebay two weeks before, I noticed it when it was put up for auction by Manchester Music Mill. In this original auction there was some vinyl burn on the back of the neck, luckily I got it the second time when it was sold by the shop and they managed to smooth it out. Hopefully it shall arrive in the next few days and when it does I shall upload some more pictures.

Price seems a bit steep to me, is it in the UK or you having it shipped?

I've seen them go for £700-900, I thought I did alright. It's in the US and is being shipped to the UK - the price I paid is including shipping.

Wow, the prices have shot up, most of the mid to late 70's Musicmasters could be had for about £350 in the UK, maybe the Broncos are rarer. Also did Fender only make mid to late 70's MM & Broncos in black? Its the only colour I ever see show up over here.

Yeah black was only available to mid to late 70's Broncos I'm sure. Red and white are the most common colours I've seen. Broncos are rarer as they were set to replace the musicmaster but the musicmaster carried on outselling it. You're looking £500 odd now for a Musicmaster - that's all I've ever seen them go for on Ebay. I've seen a few on Guitar Center for A LOT cheaper but they don't seem to ship to the UK.

condition like that with og case and candy is maybe justified? I don't really know. looks amazing though. be prepared for comedy import taxes if you haven't already. will be another £100-£130 on top of that depending on what you paid for delivery.

It's only missing three things (cable, trem arm and strap) apart from that it looks perfect - this may change when I see it with my own two eyes but fingers crossed. Don't you just love HM Customs & Revenue? Continually finding a way to twist the knife.

Congrats!

An AVRI Mustang arm will fit the Bronco like a glove.

Maybe not that bad, Greenknee paid about £60 http://www.shortscale.org/forum/viewtop ... 4&start=20
Someone on Offset got a guitar through customs recently & paid no tax or duty, so you could get lucky.

I've seen online that if the person sending it writes "gift" or "returned item" they can avoid the tax for the other person - whether this is true or not is a different matter.
