It is made in Taiwan. I think it is relatively new. I got it "used" on ebay awhile back by someone saying it was black label. He refunded me the difference in price when I got it because it is not a black label Japanese one.

I noticed that too that a lot of the demos didn't have the settings the same. I am hoping for a sound that is less fizzy and plain. (If that makes sense.) Hopefully all the changes do something. LOL Using LED's for one diode (if I have read up right) should do asymmetrical clipping that should make it sound more natural. Also changing caps and resistors to non-polar ones of a different type that is supposed to reduce noise. The switch runs the signal through the original second diode in to a red LED in series which gives a bunch more low end.
