I watched some vids that feature the lp style and they look JUST LIKE the fucking Schecter Solo's. The neck joing/cutaway - it's like the Dean EVO's as well so they are all prob the same factory.
the factory isn't what makes schecter good. it's the quality control they do at the US shop where they set everything up, do fret dressing and all the little details.

that's good to know, i wasn't even sure if anyone did that stuff on guitars anymore and figured they were shipped out with good frets etc but most schecters i've come across have been pretty damn good so that explains a lot.

somebody posted a video on here where they toured the shop and showed how they do everything. it makes a huge difference to have someone go over the guitar like that and seems like the kind of thing that all guitar companies should do.

Fantastic video, it went far to explain the playability and build quality of the Schecters I've bought and encountered. It makes an absolutely huge difference.

Now if only most of their models didn't look so goddamn gash to me :P

As for the HLK guitars, the Firebird and green Tele look incredible... until you hit the fuckin' details, especially the goddamn inlays. They almost look cool, then the pull a goddamn U-turn and flip you the bird while trying to hit you on a cross-walk.

Hardluck Kings Guitars

Post by Nashville Ed »

First - I have been playing guitar for over 30 years - Studied at Berklee College of Music and have owned and played some of the finest guitars of the Most Popular Brands on the Market - I own some Vintage Fenders and Gibson's and a collection of new Brands of guitars - I normally play Fender Strat's - I have 3 of them 2 American made and a MIJ I believe - All 3 play great - one of them is as Old as I am (55) - My point, is I know a great playing guitar when I hold it in my hands and play - Last Year I came close to dying due to complications with pneumonia, during my recovery I saw a contest being presented by a new Brand of guitar called "Hardluck Kings" I entered as I had nothing better to do and I am always interested in new products/guitars - I won! When I received the "Bombshell" Model (Strat Style) I was very pleased with the look the feel and the sound - right out of the Box and Case that it came in - I made a few adjustments to suit my playing but everything was a great as any of the "Traditional" brands I have been playing for years - I actually purchased 2 more of their guitars and have been very very pleased with the play ability, sound and construction -

If you haven't played one of these guitars and have no Clue what the quality is - you should keep your mouth Shut. Yeah they are made in China, So what - I have a few guitars from China that beat the crap out of some of the American Made new Brands offered - Just because something is not made in the USA, it sucks?? Grow up and get used to it - You telling me my hand made Classical form Spain is a piece of Shit because it wasn't made in the USA - I think not -

If you would like to Check out the Sound of the Hardluck Kings guitars Visit this link: http://fandalism.com/ecstefanov#_=_

My point - If you have no other basis for your opinions other than what you THINK the quality of an instrument is because you look at where it was built you seriously need to get off you high horse -

I guess the Berklee College of music does not offer courses in reading comprehension, because not a single post in this thread said these guitars suck because they were made in China. They said that the guitars were fugly because of the ridiculous decals and juvenile inlay designs and because the whole lifestyle image promoted by the Hard Suck Guitars company is one that is specifically catered to douchebags. And if you had actually looked around the forum, you would have seen that the members here tend to find that the Asian made cheap guitars are often a better value than expensive American made ones.

Welcome to the forum, by the way. I look forward to the LULZ that your future posts will bring us.

Mmm. Love my Chinese Fender. Not so much the Hard Luck Guitars website, but I guess lots of people like "babes" and tattoos, got to be a winning formula for a certain demographic.

Are they less decal-happy than they were when this post started, back in the day?

Being the person who proudly mentioned the word "China" in my thread, I find it unfortunate that you didn't understand the context of my post, Nashville Ed. READ AGAIN. I even used the word cheap three times (in reference to production cost), not once in regard to quality. I have a Chinese plywood SG that sounds and plays great, and guess what? The only USA-made guitar in my present 12+ guitar collection is a Rickenbacker.

You have a handmade guitar from Spain? Cool!

Here in Korea I work for a guitar company with all models built by one man, hand shaped necks, sprayed in 15 layers of thin nitrocellulose lacquer, handwound pickups, in-house fabricated hardware, and are actively played by Michael Thompson, Tim LeFebrve, and a dozen other studio and live recording musicians. At NAMM and via email, it's not seldom that I get the "high-horse" riding snobs you mentioned, who either confuse Korea with another East Asian country, think this country has any form of child labor, and/or don't even know where Korea is, but nonetheless have to deal with them in a professional manner, instead of saying "Grow up and get used to it". I think you'd be very well-advised to direct the focus of your misguided rant somewhere else.

But do stick around! This can a fun place, even for old folks like you and I.

Sloan wrote:I'm bumping this because they have fucking firebird style guitars shipped with a case for like under $400. shit is UNHEARD OF. Also, the LP styles look like they're made the same as the Dean Evo's and Schecter Solo series - that means fucking quality. I am pissed that the firebirds are called spiders and have goddamn spider inlays, but what the fuck ever.

^This! How in the hell can they afford to sell them so damn cheap? Where are these things manufactured? Read some good reviews on these and it just doesn't seem like it would be possible to sell these at that price point and still make a profit.

Douchebag guitars made for douchebags.

May have said that previously in this thread. Still stands.

And nobody gives a fuck where they were made. If a guitar is tailored to a specific brand of douchebag (like all PRS guitars, ever) then it's a douchebag guitar. You make douchebag guitars for douchebags. It's your business model. Defend it or get the fuck out and stop pretending to be some committed fan or something. It's fucking sad that a grown man will spend more time creating false accounts and reviews all over the shop as on the design process, which seems to amount to "FUCKIN' SPIDERS ON THE FRETBOARD, AWESOME BRAH".
