Is this Jagmaster 24 or 25.5-inch scale?

Weren't the Japanese /Vista series 24" ? and the Chinese were 25.5" ?

Or did they do all scales in both countries ?

Yeah they were... though something tells me the 24" Chinese models were 25.5 routed bodies with conversion necks.

thats the 25.5 scale version. the conversion neck is a misleading name. really you can just thro it onto a 25.5 scale body and it cuts the scale down a bit(i think) i know it won't go on a scale scale body.

The actual neck length of a 22 fret 24" and 21 fret 25.5" neck is pretty much the same, but the bridge is closer to the neck pocket on an instrument built to be 24" (think of the bridge location on a Jaguar vs. Jazzmaster). A conversion neck is physically shorter, and will let you use a full-scale bridge placement and achieve a 24" scale, usually sacrificing a fret.

That's gonna be a 25.5" version, due to em only making the conversion scale versions in Black with white guard, and Sunburst with tort guard...

And the only other 25.5" one i've seen in the flesh was black, with black guard....

it's just impossible to tell because the black came in 24" and 25.5". It looks like a 25.5" from the picture but that's just more of a guess. If you're looking into buying it or it is yours just have the seller (or you) measure from the nut to the saddles and you'll have your answer.

EDIT:

upon closer inspection, I definitely think it's a 25.5" for two reasons: the serial number Y001 would imply to me it was made in 2001, which is before they actually came out, but just barely. So, I'm thinking it's a really early CIC Jagmaster. Also, if the PUPs are original, they would say "Duncan Designed" on them and while the pictures are crappy, they don't appear to have any writing.

Yeah, I asked the seller to measure it and it is indeed 25.5".
