Saw this at a local store(not my friends shop) for $999

The one on the right below.

It's a modified Les Paul Recording Model(orginal on the left

I think it is kinda baddass.

damnit! that sucks! there are enough boring 2 humbucker les pauls in the world. that studio is flippin awesome! and he ruined it! damn damn damn damn damn damn damn

Yeah I'm sad to see that. The recording model is the only les Paul I've ever liked. Shame to see it fucked.

That's one thing that I'll never understand - people talk on and on about the inventiveness of Leo Fender and Les Paul, then they use the designs that they came up with at the beginning of their tinkering. Fender and Paul (and even Orville Gibson, for that matter) would probably be irritated that everybody is stuck in the 50s or 60s in terms of gear.

Even Leo himself kept developing his ideas at G&L.
