Squier Jaguar bridge problems
Because the screws don't fit in the saddles well enough to stay put
Also, the saddles will never not buzz because of this
Here's a little closer up
Anyways, if I wanted to replace it, would I be better off with a Fender Jaguar bridge, or should I go with a roller saddle TOM, like I've been considering for a while?

This or the warmoth modified mustang one, but the staytrem looks sweeter actually.Noisy Cat wrote:Staytrem bridge, 9.5-inch radius
I had the same problem on my jaguar. I fixed it with the McGuyver way... http://www.webrocker.de/jaguar/cms/2012 ... uyver-way/
it works!
it works!

Step 1: Throw that bridge away.
Step 2: Purchase a nice Fender bridge or a TOM
That sounds like the best plan. I figured I should get an ABR-1 bridge and tape the shit out of the posts. I tried it with the TOM off my SG, string spacing and everything was just fine. I could use it if I shimmed the neck, but I'd rather get a better bridge.

well yeah that, or the staytrem bridge, which is kinda the same. i figure i might just pick up a modified mustang bridge. if needed, i'll just have my friend loctite the saddle height screws, since i would inevitably fuck it up somehow.

shimmed the neck with some business card, stuck the TOM on. it works fine. intonation is a bit off, but i can deal with it for now. i guess i could just wait and save up for the stay trem bridge, but for now, the TOM does fine.
also i did some research on finger board radiuses (radii?) and found out that the difference between a 9.5" bridge radius and a 12" bridge radius is very unnoticable
check it out
12" & 9.5", 14" & 9.5", and 12" & 14"
noticable difference between 14 & 9.5, very little between 14 & 12, and nothing to cry about between 12 & 9.5

not exactly. it is used on the squier mustang as well, but the saddles are crazy tiny. also my main problem was with the saddle height screws being shit, and i imagine it would be the same with the blacktop jm/squier mustang bridge.hotrodperlmutter wrote:what about the blacktop jazzmaster bridge? same radius, no? just with mustang saddles.
here's the squier bridge
and here's a fender bridge

err, no one is disliking the mustang bridge or vibrato here. I would much rather have the mustang bridge on my jaguar, but proper mustang bridge, not the skinny little thing that squier calls a mustang bridge. damn, i wish i spoke portuguese to explain to you better. alas, i only know spanish. (and english, but that's a given)iCEByTes wrote:dunno why everbody hates mustang bridge i find stable , except Vibrato unite that require ninja setup.
anyways, here's a pic of the bridge i put on, it worked fine with just a two business card thickness shim at the base of the neck pocket. I kind of like the sound that i get with the TOM, makes it sound a bit warmer, but I don't know if thats just because the strings are much higher above the strings (i did adjust the pickup height though)
