Building a Jem

Post by JJLipton »

So a new 777DY jem will cost about 2,000 depending on the condition of the guitar.
I can pick this repainted rg550 up for about 200 bones.

Can buy some pink pickup stickers for about 7 bucks. He painted over the headstock and logo too for some reason...possibly because he couldnt match the color correctly or the original finish wasn't yellow. I could also buy some green knobs/switch tips. The monkey grip is obviously a custom job..but it looks like it was decently well done.

think it's worth it? The finished product would be a jem frankenstein for about $300.

Not really. It's either a real Jem or a decent 550/560 etc for me.

I always think homemade monkey grips look shit.

Sorry :(
