Sounds great, doesn't have any of the typical Muff (in my opinion) shortcomings, well made and is a lovely orange.

It would be fun to mess around with a vintage muff though...
I'm quite tempted by the Hoof, but I'm on the search for a muff that can do palm mute chords so I'm in the process of building a DIY Triangle clone. Have your tried the Hoof alongside other EHX reissues to see how it compares with those?
It's a thing to note, the Hoof isn't just a Muff clone with a mids knob. It's got less gain and it's got much tighter bass, much less sag and much more dynamic. It's a lot more like a distortion, overdrive kind of deal voiced in a fuzzy/muff-like way.

It's perfect for chugging and palm muting, very tight, very open to boosting if you want to kick it over for more gain or volume for a solo. I think I love it because it stacks perfectly with other pedals and even amp gain.

If you give me a couple of weeks I'll probably put up a video comparing a hoof to a modern NYC reissue.
