NA(coustic)D! - Sonoran SCE

Post by awfurby »

Walking through Allans in the city, went in to buy some strings, and then I saw this:

Took it into a practice room, it sounded great. I walked out without buying it, went home, did some online research, and then went back the next week and tried it out again. I love it. So now I am the proud owner of a Sonoran SCE.

It's really nice - not expensive but well built, nice fit and finish, and sounds great. The onboard preamp and tuner is good too. Specs here on the Fender site.

That looks lovely... our shop should be getting some Fender acoustics in soon. I jumped in and requested we get the Elvis Kingman... wish I'd thought of this one too.

Not played many Fender Acoustics apart from the low end ones, be intrigued to try some.

Does the neck feel pretty much electric ?

the first year malibus are BEAST! they have solid tops and a soft v neck profile.
once they started the solid color scheme i lost interest. tho i fancy the new kinmans with the blocks and solid top. i saw one the other day at guitar center for 369.00
and the bass version is rather nice, tho i hate the idea of an acoustic bass.

Very nice. Really dig an acoustic with tuners on one side. Congrats!

Yes it does - that's not a bad thing in my opinion. I spend most of time on an electric anyway so I don't have to adjust my playing style too much. It's got a gloss finish though, so that might be a dealbreaker for some people.

I wasn't asking in negative way, think that would appeal to me too. Can't wait to strum some, and also adore gloss necks !! Those that prefer satin feel are deluding themselves.
