The lower horn looks really unbalanced on this version, probably due to the guard shape and the upper chrome plate. It would probably look better with a 3-way switch rather than that plate. It looks cramped. Putting a part on it just cos you have it doesn't really make any sense. Heep the plate for whatever you make in the future.
Having the switch farther away from the strings would be better too (like it is in the first one)
I don't know why everyone hates the plate. It's gonna be a Kurt plate too. It's in the same spot as the cyclone 2. It won't get in the way to me and I think it looks great. It's too empty there without it.
Congratulations! Your Punkacc9 evolved into Awstin.
I'd guess that you've also made a project thread at Offset - what's their reaction to the switchplate? Keep it but include ?
Ultimately if you want it and would feel like it was incomplete without it then you should go ahead and use it because you're the only person that needs to be happy with the result. To me the 3-way toggle position was something you got right in the 2.0 version and you'd be taking a step backwards to use the plate.
As for the colour, I've lost track of what you have now. Did you sell the dark green HH Jag you had? I'd say go for a colour you don't already have, but red would look good with this.
Yeah, I don't like the placement. I'm not trying to rattle your cage, just giving you my constructive opinion. The Cyclone 2 doesn't look as off balance because it has a smaller upper horn. The small lower horn on your design looks cramped especially when it's got the Jaguar upper horn shape.
It's your guitar so do whatever you want. In my eyes the design is improved by the Jag trem and upper plate/guard. The lower control plate does the opposite.

I think that's the best looking one in this thread. With the mute and bridge cover, two types of pickup, one Mustang control plate and one Jag as well as the rhythm circuit, it's still very busy. The plate looks like an after-thought and just messy. Perhaps if you didn't already have the switchplate and didn't include it in the first design of this revision you wouldn't have planned on buying one to put there and just stuck with the toggle, but now you're used to it it feels like it's part of the design and something is missing with it gone. Don't use it just because you happen to have it in the parts box.
It's still the best version you've come up with so far and I'm looking forward to the build thread because it looks like it's going to be a classy guitar.

Unless you're taking a break from building hold on to it. I don't know how often Paul makes them but they don't seem all that easy to come across and they always seem a better option than the standard slide switch only version.
Here, to fix the switch plate problem... I will have two pickguards made. One for the plate and one for the toggle. Then i will have the route underneath the guard universal. So if I decide to ditch the plate later on and the extra switch I will simply take off the plate and guard, then throw on the new guard, the extra switch (whatever I decide to make it do) can just stay hidden in the plate route for if I ever want to change is back. Problem solved. Equilibrium. I even made a pretty picture to show it.
That would cover both bases and it means you won't have to make another version if you decide the plate (or toggle) isn't quite right. I did the same dealio with the routes on my Jaguar.
