The old Digitech Whammy pedal, is the pedal treadle meant to be sprung? as in stay up and not lay flat or does it depend on generation of Whammy?
Just watched this nice vid of Dhani Harrison and his toys and his whammy stands upwards

I have a secondhand 4th gen whammy, not used it much but the pedal treadle itself lays flat and you can't cock it or have it stay up on it's own.

I've a WH-4, and it definitely isn't sprung. Which means you can leave it cocked for slightly chorusey sounds or for harmonies or just weird, dissonant lead tones or whatever.

Thank you Gabe, all sorted now. Just had to tighten up the bolt and nyloc nut the treadle pivots on.
