FAO Tim - Mustma Elgita content

Post by othomas2 »

Looking on local gumtree to see if there is any bargains to be had... and came across this one:

http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/mustm ... 1014623948

Whilst googling I notice you seem to like them...

Don't think I'm going to bother but thought you might be interested.

Is it a fair price ? looks like it needs a few parts and a good overhaul.

What's do you like about them ?

cheers

Musima Elgitas eh. That £60 one looks almost beyond saving. Plus you oughtta be able to find a perfect one for just over a hundred.

I think they look incredibly cool. Red-black burst is probably my favourite guitar finish. Playability-wise, it's like a Jazzmaster with hotter pickups (the one on the right has the good sounding pups with adjustable poles and weird magnet arrangement). They trems are akin to Jag/JM units, but the bridges are proper solid with roller saddles. Ugly but they function well. The necks on these things are proper boaty, so I had a luthier to make me a new one for the Elgita I play most. The one on the right has the replacement neck fitted.
