Memory Boy expression pedal owners, what value?

Post by Pens »

So, among a few other pedals I got in a trade recently was a Memory Boy, which I've played around with an it puts out some really interesting sounds. I wanted to control the rate on it, and did some reading, which turns out the expression pedal controls the rate if the switch is in a certain spot.

I don't want a full pedal, I'm thinking of just building a small pot on a 1/4" plug. I just need to know what value and how it's wired up, if anyone has any idea or has one?

Are you asking what the resistive value of the Rate pot on the memory Boy is? You can't open it and measure it with a voltmeter????

There isn't a Rate pot on this thing. The only way to control it is to add an expression pedal and set the switch to "Exp Pedal". That's why I'm asking, I want a Rate pot and want to just add one via the exp jack.

When I had one I used a moog expression pedal, I think it was 25K but I might be wrong.

Fairly sure it controlled the depth of the modulation rather than rate too but I might be wrong there too.
