Impending new Pelham guitar day

Post by finboy »

On a vintage Gibson kick as of late, found this odd ball, in the mail currently, still needs a bridge pickup and I am leaning towards a Novak mm-90...

What makes it odd is that unlike most melody makers, the back of the neck is painted...

Fuck yeahhhh

MM-90 is perfect choice, it'll pretty much be a proper Junior at that point, but with the white robroe cover give a stock look.

It's here!!!

It is in amazing shape, the neck is thick but super comfy, and I can't believe how light/resonant it is. It makes my sg classic feel like a les paul, now I just have to wait for the mm-90 pickup to arrive and it will be perfect. Pics to follow!

it turns out these things are routed for 2 pickups, and the holes look big enough to accommodate soap bars, the more you know, i am sticking with one to keep it stock looking. under the pick guard is quite green, which makes me think refin, but the way it has faded, and worn down through the clear in some spots to original pelham has got me absolutely baffled.

anyways...

How it sits now, pickup pulled, new pots (ones in there were aftermarket), waiting for the pickup, any fans of william gibson might recognize the sticker

Tailpiece was supposed to be for a mustang, but it bolted right up and got rid of that big chunk of vibrola. Surprisingly the behind the bridge sound is even more clear than any of my offsets when strummed
