you must have played a shit one, tim- the pickups on mine aren't weak at all. hotter than my jag and duo-sonic, and the sound is very distinctive. any time i've recorded with it the engineer/tea boys have been like "WHAT THE F IS THAT IT SOUNDZ AMASING"

I suspect it's more likely you've got an unusually good one, because I've tried a few over the years. Also check the first line of this Novak reworking of a Coronado pickup:

Coronad.

That's more the title. I suppose the title is the first line, but um, not really.

Hot was too obvious. I was over thinking again. I figured it was a technical term...

Tim I'm surprised you dislike the coronado...I played one once and I thought it was a very similar guitar to my hagstrom viking.

I'd assumed Tim was just enjoying a bit of uncharacteristic trolling in this thread.

Ha. Well possibly a light trolling. However I've honestly never understood the froth people get into over these guitars. The difference with the Hagstrom Viking is that the Viking is generally trashier and cheaper, so people don't rave about it as much. The Viking also has much hotter pickups (some would say too hot for a hollowbody).
