NBD: CV 50s P Bass
pics later. here's one for reference
Probably doesn't rest at this angle unsupported
it also came with a seymour duncan zephyr quarter pounder and the seller also moved the thumb rest to above the top e string. nice.
going to get my sting on.

the neck does feel deep and the nut is wider than a jazz bass but i'm sure i'll warm up to it

I don't know shit about basses. Mine plays like a guitar to me. The transition wasn't bad. I went get the specs because i wasn't sure...Here's what i have..
Squier by Fender Standard P Bass Special Edition Black Mirror Rosewood Fretboard
agathis body with a maple Jazz Bass neck. The rosewood fretboard has 20 medium-jumbo frets and a 9-1/2" radius for buttery-smooth playability. The black mirror finish is accentuated by the chrome hardware and pickguard. A split single-coil pickup in the center and a Jazz Bass pickup in the bridge give you loads of tonal versatility.
It seems to be a mix between a p and j bass i'm understanding..It has a volume control for each pickup and master tone.

yeah, i'm hoping ill get used to the neck - it is exactly the same as a strat but it's deeeep .
what's harder than the neck though is consistent finger and thumb use. that's gonna be hard. up to this point i've always flopped through with a pick but i'm determined to try this properly
brandon that bass looks fantastic. there's a fender one in production that i was actually looking at but it's £600. i might actually look out for that squier version now! it has the perfect configuration: jazz bridge pickup and neck taper, and precision split pickup and body.
