Suggestions for new home Amp/cab set up?

I run my Bassman at 3 on the volume and use the volume control on my Boss LS2 to bring it down to 'playing at home' levels. It works well for me.

What about my original idea of putting an attenuator, or however you call it, on the cab. That way you can crank the amp and control the loudness at the cab. I had the exact same issue and my friend put this volume knob on a cab and it's perfect.
