NGD: Squier Silver Series Telecaster (MIJ)

Post by MrJamesBrown »

Picked this up yesterday. I've been really into Women recently and noticed that both Pat and Chris used Tele's.

The Squier Silver series were made in Japan in the early nineties, I believe. This thing feels great- as good as any Tele I've ever played (American and Mexicans). The neck is wonderful- smooth rolled edges, lovely satin finish.

Sadly, someone decided to take off the Squier logo :(

I'd love to get a replacement one made, but it seems like Fender have that shit on lock down due to copyright. If anyone knows where I could get one done in the UK let me know!

Gotoh machineheads on it feel solid as a rock.

All I'm planning to do is replace the 3-way switch (it's knackered), replace the scratchplate and screws with a gloss black 3-ply and genuine Fender screws, and replace the bridge pickup (sounds like it needs re-winding but I think I cpuld pick up an American tele pickup from evilbay for cheap).

Best of all? It only set me back £120. Yeeaaahh.

Love that fingerboard wear, and the single ply blackguard. Swag for days.

I've never imported anything so I'll have to check it out.

This thing looks so strange. I'm so used to wearing double-cutaway guitars.
