Favorite strings for shortscale guitars?

Mine are D'addario chromes.I put some on today and they sound really good. I would defiantly recommend them. Here's some pics.

I use GHS boomers cause they're made in Michigan and want to support my local economy.

I used Fender strings most of my life though.

I use Chromes as well. 11s or 12s.

Love how they describe 13s as "medium gauge".

6 string: regular d'addario/EB 9s or 10s

12 string: EB 8s strung as 10 string (only one b and high e)

bass: new territory but i like d'addario roundwounds at the moment

acoustic: N/A

Got Power Slinkys on my Jaguar at the moment. Gonna go back down to Regular Slinkys or Heavy Bottom Skinny Top ones when I can be arsed.

I used to like really thick strings but they seem to zap all the fun out of playing for me now.

in that case, 10s

agreed on the sapping life out of playing. lower gauge is more fun for me and a lot less work. i feel sorry for the hamfisters but each to their own.

Seriously if you haven't tried these Cobalt strings yet, they make your guitar sound WAY better than any others I've ever heard. all my electric guitars have these now.

i like sizzle and high end these now have my attention!

do they feel more or less compliant than regular strings? i.e. harder to bend etc

Rotosound, Elexir, Ernie ball, Ghs those i use all the time.

I dont like daddario and fender strings.

I like rotosound the most. Cheap and good.

Ernie Balls, I think the "not even slinky ones" The only complaint I have about them is they don't put an extra high E string in like rotosound do.

For my 'stang I use 10-52, usually GHS Boomers because they're cheap and Stringsdirect don't do DR Hi-Beams in 10-52 gauge (I string my JM with DR 10-46s).

The end result is a 'looser' feel to the upper strings due to the shorter scale, but more of a solid feel to the lower strings, which works well with single note bending and detuning. I'm a half step down pretty much all the time these days.

I still don't think the sound/tone differences between string gauges outweigh the differences in comfort, so I use what's most comfortable for my wimpy little hands and stick-thin arms. The only issue I find is the bottom E of a 10-52 set is a bit of a squeeze when I slide it into the slot of the tuner post.

I've got 11-48 on my mustang and they are so easy and so responsive and the tone is just astounding.

The detail of the crunch is what blew me away. The clarity of sound top to bottom is like I said, far better than any other strings I've ever heard. It was like a thousand dollar guitar upgrade for 10 bucks.
