I'm certain it wouldn't work, it's not like a big mechanical switch, switching a few wires like the original Strat 3-ways were (allowing in-betweeny settings with care).Freddy V-C wrote:Not that I'm aware of... can the Boss version do that? If so, that's a very intriguing idea...

Everyone knows reverb is just short delay. Hence the number of Boss RV pedals in the delay category.Walnut wrote:Why is there no reverb category? And seriously, who uses an autowah?
More people should use autowahs and filters. They're not just for funk. Used well they're great for angular post-punk stuff too. Envelope-controlled effects are a pretty interesting, underused area.
Re: ONE PEDAL TO RULE THEM ALL - Shortscale pedal olympics
This is a wonderful thread, I am most slightly out of the pedal game these days but I will try my best
1. FUZZ :homebrew ufo ''ultimate fuzz octave''(this is a hard one because I love lots of different fuzz pedals....but I chose this one as I have never found a bigger sounding fuzz)
2. OD/DISTORTION: Boss sd1 (I swapped this for a guitar with nick d wish I still had it)
3. DELAY: memory man big box( I have the behringer copy now which does the job)
4. CHORUS: boss ps3 (I am cheating here really, it does chorus but I don't use it for that but there isn't a pitch shifting category)
5. FLANGER: ehx poly chorus (I have been through three of them in my time...I end up getting rid because I just keep going back to the Radio Friendly Unit Shifter sound....but lets face it there is no better sound.
6. PHASER: rainger FX Dr Frankenstein fuzz( OK I am cheating again I don't use a phaser but this fuzz has a weird oscillator thing going on that sounds a bit phaser'ish )
7. BOOST PEDAL: saltbooster(there is no other)
8. WAH: Digetech ex-7( I am not the most wah wah loving guy but this pedal had a few sweet sounding wah's on I can't remember which one it emulated that I liked the best.)
9. TUNER: Korg the big black one: It's the only floor tuner I have used so I am not the best judge really)
10. FILTER/AUTOWAH:korg mini kaoss pad(yeah I wish I still had this....
11 CHOOSE ONE OF THE PRECEDING 10 PEDALS AS YOUR OVERALL FAVOURITE!:fucking hell...I guess if there is one sound I couldn't live without it would be fuzz as all the other sounds sound better through a fuzz pedal. So the ufo fuzz pedal is my number 1!

Hell yeah, I like this guy so far. The Hardwire RV-7 is a great beast. (by the way, stick a dummy plug in output 2 if you want a wetter hall reverb)Walnut wrote:Then my vote is for the Hardwire RV-7.
Best spring reverb I've heard from a digital pedal.
THEN ADD IT YOURSELF LIKE I DIDHurb wrote:there isn't a pitch shifting category
edit: holy shit my 1000th post, sweet.

And I did add it but in a most cunning way.

Wow, that sounds interesting. I will have to try that once I buy the RV-7 again. Sold it to fund an impulse buy, and quickly realized it was a mistake.daftsupernova wrote:Hell yeah, I like this guy so far. The Hardwire RV-7 is a great beast. Firstly, its nice to see someone fondly mention the SD-1 and secondly, i was going to put the Boss PS-2 down for Delay. The Delay on that thing is ace but i will stand by the Vesta Fire being a bit better.
Re: ONE PEDAL TO RULE THEM ALL - Shortscale pedal olympics
I am perhaps being a bit nostalgic on the sd-1, it was my first stomp pedal(I think the zoom 505 was the first actual pedal for me) ever, it was also my most heavy distortion sound available to me before I discovered FUZZ . I seem to remember I bought it because a friend at the time said noel Gallagher used one in oasis haha.Fran wrote:Interesting, Hurbet.Hurb wrote: 2. But I do remember it fondly, and am sure it sounded great and crunchy. I just looked them up on ebay and they are quite cheap..but I dunno if they make em different to the older one I had.
Yeah the delay on the ps-3 is OK too. I also remember the ps-2 fondly too. I was just thinking when making my post how I wish I never sold any pedals...I don't miss guitars as much. But if I could have all the pedals I have owned back, even just to know they are there to play with when I want them I would be a very happy fellow. I see great appeal in being a pedal collector. Some of the pedals I have got rid of... I will never get back. Shame.

Re: ONE PEDAL TO RULE THEM ALL - Shortscale pedal olympics
I know what you mean. After reading this thread i had a few hours messing around with my pedals, the 'toys' i have stacked up over the years. They are inspiring things.Hurb wrote:I was just thinking when making my post how I wish I never sold any pedals...I don't miss guitars as much. The OS-2 is Boss' best dirt pedal imo. In fact, i should have put that over the TS7 in my list.
