T Rex Mudhoney
Apart from having a cool name, does anyone know anything or have any reviews of the T Rex Mudhoney? I might have the opportunity to get one cheap and wanted to know peoples thoughts before I jump on/off it.

What's cheap? They seem to vary in price a lot. Sometimes around £50, sometimes over £100 (one recently on ebay for about £115).
I had one for a while and liked it but I don't think I had a nice amp when I had it. I sold it because I had a few different dirt boxes at the time and the things it did that others didn't weren't enough for me to sell it. I liked what it did, but I also had (and still have) an OCD, some fuzzes and a Catalinbread Stallion thing.
The circuit is based on a Rat, but it doesn't sound very Rat like. Actually I had a Rat at the same time and never really noticed the similarity. It was only found out by someone checking the circuit.
I can't even remember the chain of sale, but it's been round shortscale a bit. I originally bought it from the Matamp forum.
Here's a pic of me drunkenly explain it's virtues to Proggy at Doogfest II.

i got it via noirie, now it's in chisa's hands
great overdrive sounds that retain the low end and pushing the boost button gives you a nice thick dirt/fuzz with plenty of volume. only gripe is the location of power inlet. it's right next to the output, meaning right angled cables are a no no.
might even get it back off chisa at progfest.

I've seen it plenty of times (mainly on other sites I hasten to add) where newbs post on a subject and get a resounding cacophony of "USE THE SEARCH FUNCTIONS WE ALREADIES DIDs THAT AND ANSWERED EVERYTHING EVER BECAUSE WE'RE MEMBERS OF BARBELITH.COM AND REALLY QUITE STUCK UP"* so i totally understand your rweasoning here and assumption on appropriate posting etiquette. That being said we are (USUALLY) quite chilled about stuff like that.
I think as a general guidance it's quite fine to start a new thread on a subject that has been covered before - mainly if your question or query is one that wasn't ansered in the older threads.
Hope that helps, do stick around - there's always some teething troubles, tempers are sometimes short, shrug it off. No harm done.
*yeah I still hold a grudge from like a decade ago or something. Bunch of cunts

Thanks for your words.
I feel like I need to get some armour to post here sometimes. :p
Like any site it's got it's own culture and a particularly fine brand of strong personalities. Takes a while to find your feet. It did me. Pretty sure I had blazing rows with loads of folk I love to bits these days.
