nice guitars. that bronco ruelz. love the black ones. really like those squiers too. when did they release those? they look better than other short scale strats I've seen. first one is like a full on superstrat, second looks badass in full-on blackout black.

Thanks guys!

The Squiers were E series MIJ, so around 1984-1987. I believe they are 24" scale, but it could have been 24.75". Regardless, they were shorter than your average strat. I liked the black one the best - a no frills rock machine. I could hazard a guess and say Tom Delonge may have taken cues for his sig strat from this.

my "70" mustang - comp orange (68 neck, 72 body, refinished by rodvonbon)
Image

The 65 stang that I bought off of Pat earlier this spring
switches replaced (as they were broken) I want to replace the pots and knobs, but that can wait, it was time i got it strung up and playing.

close up of the well aged, and used, and worn pearl guard

if it hadn't started pouring, i probably would have taken a family photo of both stangs, the two jags, and my duo-sonic.. oh well another time.

Protecting the elderly population

Post by Doug »

Mr. Nowhere, a great little collection there. Thanks for the photos. Beautiful vintage Mustang, yer black one, which looks all original, too.

It's yours and ya love it in your way. I wanna respect that and also ask ya...you wanna change the pots & knobs? Knowing what that does to the vintage value. Not to mention thinning the population of these pure beauties.

Ya sure you wanna do that, friend? But regardless, enjoy!

Cheers,

Doug, those are not my guitars. They belong to Mr. Nowhere. I just commented they were cool.

Ooops. Thanks. Now that I think of it, I remember wondering to myself before I posted, "This doesn't sound like Taylornutt...?"

hi guys:

This is such a cool forum.
Here's my first post.

Squier Japan FSR Jagmaster NOKO LTD that I bought in Tokyo last year, with new clear pickguard cut for 3 Dimarzio Areas.

I think I'll be a shortscale convert very soon, cos' it's so easy to pull off those crazy long stretch intervals on a 24" scale fingerboard.
