seymour duncan question

Post by robert(original) »

i pulled apart my jagstang cuz my jb is sounding weaker than dog shit, i figured the white and red wire had come apart or some such thing, but no.. so i fear that my rawk tonez have been too much for this lil guy and there is a break in one of the coils.
anywho
i noticed there i a sticker on the back tb6l, it doesn't seem to be the same thats on the jb's i saw on the site, nor whilst google imaging. anyone have any idea what pickup it actually is? i don't know how long i have had it in, but i would guess 8-9 years and ican't remember if i bought it on ebay or on the old j.s. site, but i def got it used.

A Trembucker JB shpould be a TB4 I think. TB16 is a 59/custom hybrid: LINKY

EDIT: Oops, just noticed you wrote TB61.

i did a bit more browsing around and it seems as if they may have changed some of the codes within the last 10 years. i forget where i read that. but it was a bit in a forum. no solid evidence, just griping about this n that. I took it completely out, still haven't found my multi meter to try and measure it.

The standard/trembucker JB have been the SH-4/TB-4 as long as I can remember, certainly since the mid '90s. Are you sure it's a JB and not the Distortion? Did you buy it new in the box? And even if you did, stranger things have happened...

I always thought your JS sounded a million times better than any other ones with JBs that I've heard, a livelier boost à la Duncan Distortion might explain that (as the JS seems to suck a bit of life out of any pickup regardless of pot value)

it may be, its been in there for a long fucking time, i know i had the stock bucker in for.... 2 years tops and then had a white JB in there for a couple years and then around 2002-2003 the black one appeared, i can't remember if i bought it on here, or if i bought it on ebay. i always thought it was a JB, but now, i know its not, but at the same time, i don't know what it is.
