NGD Peavey Generation EXP

Post by HNB »

I was gassing on one of those Chinese humbucker telecasters, but just didn't want to pay the $500 for one. Stumbled across this one used at Guitar Center for under $100. Win!

Pickups aren't bad. I might swap in a Red/Red Dually Lace pickup and a Blue in the neck like Greenwood. I like the orange metallic paint job and the black binding is pretty cool. :)[quote]

I have a few Peaveys (and a Peavey amp). They are pretty great really. Well built, good fretwork, solid. Hard not to like them. :)

I've always wanted to try a Peavey Reactor, it was the US made Tele that was around the same time as the Predator.
Never actually seen one in the UK though.

There would have been no question to buy it if it was called SEX. :)

My Peavey Renown 212 is a cool amp. Peavey makes some cool stuff. I know a bunch of people like those little Bandit amps. :)

To me it sounds like a strat with more gain, but it has been awhile. I like it a lot though.

The transformation to more of a Telecaster Plus has started. It won't be the same of course, but it will be more similar.

First I had to take the old stuff off.
► Show Spoiler
Next I drilled the control plate and added new electronics. I am using a 500k push pull for the volume pot so I can coil tap. I added a TBX tone pot and a kill switch.
► Show Spoiler
Getting closer! Cooter is going to make me a new black pickguard that just has the neck pickup. I also have a three way switch on the way. :)
