Hi again everybody!! I'm just making an update on A custom handmade jazzmaster me and my old man built from scratch, wasn't to pleased with the photos lol couldn't really see all the details and some asked for more pictures so here you go, much clearer and nicer photos

, yes we are putting strap buttons on.

pfffftt... beautiful work. that inlaid "pick guard" really makes it.

any plans to stain the headstock or the neck itself? looks unfinished as it is (though maybe not in person?).

It's not really my style, but regardless that is some fantastic workmanship. The guitar looks amazing and it's really nice to see something refreshingly different. Look forward to the demo. How long did it take? What are the woods, pickups etc? Have you got any photos of the build?

Thanks!! yeah going to demo it then going to inlay our logo on the headstock and stain the neck so it matches the body abit better. Along with adding the strap buttons

Hi, thanks for your comments it was probably a weeks work all up. My old man comes up with all the body ideas as has been a cabinet maker for 45 years all the wood and inlay work was done by hand so it does take a while, I (the son)handle the electricals and the setting up etc.. we pay alot attention to detail with the overall finish. doing large inlay work with unusual shapes takes time and everything behind the scense such as the shielding,wiring etc are all done with the same attention to detail and we only use the best quality materials. As for the wood it's really well seasoned (10 years approx) American cherry for the body and pickup rings, the inlay is mahogany. And stupidly we didn't keep photos of the build but from now on we will keep and show the photos through the process of making might even make a video if things work out and if they start taking off.

Truely amazing work. Recessed trem, inlay pickguard. A real one of a kind. And those pickup surrounds.
I tried making some from wood once. Not an easy task by no means. Very, very nice guitar.

Looks good. Not sure I wouldn't have just gone for a wooden pickgaurd rather than inlaying it? The pickup surrounds seem a bit chunky and not quite in keeping with the rest of the guitar? Also, might be nicer with a more striking combination of woods? All a mater of taste I guess. Nice build quality by the looks

For my personal taste, I like the inlaid pickguard but not so keen on the mounting rings. Impressive work, nice pics.

Are the pickups mounted on foam or do the "mounting rings" actually conceal the real pickup fixing/height adjustment?

Could see one of these with some carvings to country the thing right up? Always liked the carving on Lemmy's bass

No strap buttons? Or you going for some sort of magnets and steel plates implanted in the belly?

there are points on this that really fucking kill man, great stuff, and there are some aspects that make me cringe, the pup rings.... good gawd! not to my liking, but! the fact that you molded the ring around the pup is pretty fucking ace. the lack of screws intrigues me on the front, but then the back makes me gag. its a give take sort of thing,
either way. its cool as fuck.

Yeah I see what you mean guitars can be very personal it's not everyones taste,like that quote "one man's food is another man's poison". But still Thanks for your comments

I'd like to see all brass hardware on this with (non existent) brass lipsticks in those surrounds. Kinda HG wells/Steampunk vibe.

Thanks, we just haven't got around to putting the strap buttons on lol but we will be soon along with our logo, but we have been working on finishing our arch top tele and sandwich jazzmaster.

Like others have said, the workmanship looks great. I like the pickup rings but they do seem a bit tall and bulky. The bottom of the pick guard looks goofy to me, but it could be because I'm used to seeing the typical Jazzmaster shape. Anyways, it looks good and seems like you like it, so that's all that really matters.

we are planning our next build which is either going to be either a jazzmaster or jaguar but with single coils so hopefully we wont need pickup rings,but thats after we finish our archtop lol.

Amazing work. The pickup rings are my favorite part, and I don't typically find that sort of thing to be pleasing; they work great here.
