Yeah, a couple of months ago I saw a nice vintage one online for $499. It was at a Guitar Center store in Manhattan. It was too late to call when I saw it but I called first thing the next morning and someone else had just bought it.Dang!Richard wrote:I used to own a 1973 S-100. Trading it is one of my biggest gear regrets. Fantastic guitars, and a good value at $700-1000.
Never tried a reissue, but with the vintage ones so attainable I can't see them being a better option.
I have a reissue S-100 on order, but still no sign yet. Andertons in the UK is taking an age to get them, but I see Coda have them in stock.
I have a 70's S-100, and a 70's S-90. Both are AMAZING. I've got a bit of a thing for the old Guilds.
Also have a 70's S-70 and a '65 S-100 Polara. So long as I have the cash, and the price is right, I'll pretty much pick up any decent old Guilds I can. The quality, sound and playability of the guitars are amazing.

In his defense, he got into the classifieds 2 posts ago... from here on out it's always rough seas for the dis-ingenues.
