Before and during AND AFTER
i couldn't get along with the crappy blacktop decal, so i had to put a real one on. i found it, after i thought the kids i was watching tossed it. this is right after i put it on, im 2 coats in, out of 6 misting coats before i level sand and repeat, but with three.
the placement probly could have been a bit better, but its close enough for me!
polished it up after only curing for about 12 days. looks good, strung it up. the lacuer on the headstock definitly allows the wood to breathe better and the tone to stand out. NOT! ITS JUST COOLER LOOKING!

i just couldn't get on with the crappy blacktop logo, but cooter, a tru gent sent me this logo for free, i ended up sending him something, he should be getting it on monday actually, but anywho. i have 2 more misting coats before i level sand for the first time since i put the decal on. I did two misting coats of tint. then 3 normal coats of clear, level sanded, waited 3 days, put the decal on, and as stated before i will put six coats on altogether before i level sand with the decal on, then return to 3 coats and sand.
i will probly only do 2 more sessions after this one as i don't need/want a super awesome finish on the just the headstock, but i don't want it to look amatuerish either, tho that pic makes it look poopy.

stew mac stuff, i have like 3 cans of clear left over and 1.5 cans of tint from ages ago. suprisingly enough it wasn't gummed up anything, i did rinse the tips with thinner, but thats it, it comes out really well without spitting. i would like to state that i have had horrid luck with behlen stuff before, total crap. lots of spitting and gummy crap.
