Schecter PT.

Post by mkt3000 »

So... do we have anyone with Schecter knowledge here?

This has been floating on the local CL-type site and on some local facebook groups, and I think I want it.

But the seller doesn't know much about it, or about Schecters... any neither do I

GET IT.

If memory serves, early 80s model. The PT being Pete Townshend. Supposedly excellent quality guitars.

After googling a bit, it looks like an early Diamond Series with the serial and "diamond series" sanded off, different pickups, and a different neck plate.

I'm gonna stay the hell away from this one.

If it was original and cheap enough, I'd say go for it. Tampered and fucked with, then I'd say no. Schecters are good value, Diamond Series included. A double-humbucker Telecaster like that is one of my dream guitars. I think I like the PT Fastback they released recently the best, with the mini-humbucker/filtertron type in the bridge and the humbucker in the neck. Very nice.

Schecter pickups are apparently great, too. I've been trying to bag a pair of Super Rock's to try out in the Nu-Sonic for ages but they're like fucking rocking horse shit which is fucking stupid because Schecter started out as a replacement parts shop.

I like Schecter. A lot. The PT model has always been a favorite of mine. If you can at least check it out, I'd recommend doing so. The recent Schecter stuff I've played and owned have played like a dream.
