I'll be damned....don't know anything about the specs nor am I a fanboy of this dude, but if it plays as good as it looks I may have just found my next guitar.

Dunno who Troy Van Leeuwen is - I had to Google and found he's in QotSA, which is cool - but I like it. Gorgeous colour, and the rhythm selector switch is cool as a toggle. Not that I use that circuit, but still.

I've seen some people on OSG (yeah, I know...OSG) grumbling about the trem placement...it looks a bit closer to the bridge maybe, but I don't see a problem with it. That guitar's hawt. I kinda want.

He apparently got turned on to Jazzmasters by Johnny Marr. He also like the old Squier VM JM with the Strat Jack. The Fender interview with him is pretty good.

Sloan-caster. The photo ops would have him stealing pizza with the guitar on his back.

So what you're saying he has a long history with the Jazzmaster that warrants a Sig model... where as the Yamaha was just a money making exercise.

I never know what warrants most guys getting signature models except it helps a company sell things.

I never buy a signature guitar for the artist as much as the features on that particular guitar.

Seen him play a Squier Jaguar live, butterscotch with the strat jack, and I've seen pictures of him playing Jazzmasters and stuff. He has an interesting collection. I loved his three-P90 Yamaha ES335 signature a few years back (so much so that I jumped on the limited edition Riviera Epiphone w/3 P90s as I missed out on getting one).

Don't really get the bitching; he's in one of the biggest bands in the world, y'know?

After googling, there are plenty of shots of him using the Yamaha

I don't really think of him as the current auxiliary dude from QOTSA cause I stopped listening to them ages ago and therefore haven't seen any videos of them where he's featured.
He was the dude from A Perfect Circle in any press I've ever seen on him.
Who are shit.

Fair dos to anyone who wants a Jazzmaster so they can cop that QOTSA sound, I guess.

That's the impression I get about the Marr sig jag. It's not that Marr isn't a respected musician; it's the fact that it's a bloody nice guitar.

Troy was with them when I saw them in early 2003.

Yeah, APC are like all the worst parts of Tool, Smashing Pumpkins and NIN mixed up together. I did like that song they did that featured Jarboe though.

I've never listened to Failure. Any opinions? I just imagine it'll be more 90s alternative bollocks.

He's a good player in a great band. Overshadowed by Josh Homme a bit, but I like what he plays. None of that tedious meedly meedly.

Although Troy ends up playing alot of the lead parts live, allowing Josh to concentrate on rhythm and singing. Always fun to watch, anyway.
