BC Rich Body Art
I saw one of these today for £75. It was a mockingbird with two humbuckers and tune-o-matic bridge. Worth it?

They were Korean made, much better than the bronze and platinum series. Its the artwork on them that puts people off.
Which one is it? The 'spiro-lite' one looked okayish but I think I would have to spray paint the others.

I sort of understand why they made them and why they made them look so horrendous, but they are very good guitars. I'd love to see someone pull one out and play some soulful jazz on a guitar sporting an airbrushed picture of a thong disappearing between the buttcheeks of a womans arse.

Yup, that's what I got. Except mine seems to have aged quite badly so that the orangey clouds in the background have become more yellowey green. I'm thinking it's sun damage because it's still orangey in the lower bout.Nick wrote:I would totally rock a vampirella mockingbird.
My only gripe would actually be more the fact that it's missing the carves I normally associate with Mockingbirds.
One day I hope to own one like this:

I own one Rob. Bought it with the headstock broke off and fixed it back with two part epoxy resin. Great guitar but weighs like two Les Pauls.robert(original) wrote:i don't know how i forgot about this, but there is a guy here in town that has a neon green lucite mockingbird. badass guitar. its sorta silly cuz of the green, but.... its still wicked cool looking imo

Surprised it is Chinese made Paul, must be a late model. Still worth £75 all day long though. Looks like it has the older BDSM pups in it, much better than them shite Rockfields they put in them now.

You should airbrush a stewardess uniform on her and a cup of coffee dropping from her hand.

Really liking this now. The neck is as skinny as you'd want without being annoying and the upper fret access is good enough that you don't quite realise how far up you are. Fran's right, it's not that comfortable sat down, it seems to get in the way of itself, but it makes sense standing up. You sort of can't help swagger about a bit wearing it. Only the neck pickup's working at the minute but a quick look inside revealed that it's just the switch wants wiring. Neck pickup sound pretty muddy but it might sound better once I get both working and I've had a tinker at balancing them.
Might stick a set of gfs VEH pickups in at some point.
