That partsjazzy is cool ...
Since my last post here, I've fallen in love with teles (I play mostly jazz), and here are the two I own (sorry for the lousy phone pics):
Very different guitars.
The first one is a Tokai Breezysound, heavy, alder body I guess, double binding; a rather thin and wide neck, very nice rosewood, vintage frets ... Stock pickups were/are rather dull, so I tried a Lollar CC, which at once makes the guitar come alive and tames it - the other tele is keener on revealing all my mistakes, strings that ring while they should not, etc ... A bitch. A proper tele.
It's a Road Worn (some of you must be familiar with it), with the "mandatory" black bakelite guard, and Hepcat pickups. The neck seemed awful to me at first (too light, narrow, thick, jumbo frets ...) but I'm definitely coming to terms with it (except the relic'ing - so good on the body and so bad on the neck ...)
I tend to use the Tokai with a pick, neck PU only (feels like driving a be-bop-ready tank), while the RW is great for finger-style chord-melody, and really versatile (all PU positions sound great)
(which one would you rather play ?)
