Installing new pickup in my Epiphone. Advice?

I DONE MADED A PICKUP RING.

Saw these being sold on eBay for Â£12 a while back. Lolfuckyou. Made one myself out of foam PVC, so it's quite thick and resistant. But it was white, so I've sprayed it black.

Holy shit my guitar is dusty.

Going to get it wired up tomorrow, I'm going out tonight so I have to shave my head.

What I would like to know is what the best way to install a new pickup in a semi-hollow guitar is? I was thinking of just snipping the wire but it seems untidy that way. What do?

cut it right at the start of the pickup on the stock one and reattach the new one the same way, i.e. cut off all its slack

What do folks think of these Entwistle pups? My flatmate got one for his strat and really likes it

Have you seen the tv jones method? it looks like it works pretty good.

You loosen the washers and nut. Hold the backside of the pot with your fingers through the F-hole (ooh err missus), then you force some plastic tubing onto the shaft of the pot.

The tubing helps you push the pot through the body and out of the pickup cavity. Then unsolder the wires, solder in the pickup, and push back through. That way, you dont mess up the stock pickup.

(But really, I'd snip it with enough wire left on the old pup to reuse it, solder, shrinkwrap, done.)

guys its really simple. you just cut the wires next to the old pickups and reattach it on the new ones

Entwistle pickups are really good, and in that price bracket pretty unbeatable. I've got a Nemesis and a Nemesis AFG humbucker (the nemesis being ceramic and the AFG being a mix of ceramic and alnico) and they are both really good. I've spent a lot of money on pickups over the years (most of my guitars are fitted out with Bare Knuckles) and the Entwistles are very good. Certainly prefer them to the Duncans I have had.

They're rebadged Artecs, or at the very least commissioned from them, so in-line with the majority of GFS pickups. In other words, depending what you're looking for, they're really quite nice for the relatively small outlay.

All Burns pickups are now Entwistle designs. Additionally, I had an Alden guitar with three of these exact pickups and it's one of the nicest sounding (but possibly worst-looking) guitars I've ever had, which influenced this purchase. I'm eager to pick up an HV57 or whatever it's called, their version of the PAF, and pair it up with one of their more aggressive ceramic pickups on my Nu-Sonic and see what it sounds like.
