Les Paul Special

Post by MiguelWood »

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for this Les Paul Special?

I actually picked up a 2012 Gibson Les Paul Special in Heritage Cherry at a GC for $500 about a week ago. I'm extremely happy with it. It's my first guitar with P90s.

Cat's meow for sure. $500 is a great price. I love mine, but TV Yellow would have been a better color for me.

That cat looks like my cat, Karloff. Scary!

It's bad to see that Gibson discontinues some interesting models and I'm not a Gibson purist at all. I will be missing Melody Maker line, I would be happy if Gibson resurected Kalamazoo KG electrics - Mustang style body that is a slab of maple and not masonite like on originals, Fender-style maple necks, tune-o-matic and vintage style Melody Maker pickup with bar magnet unlike the modern pickups. With a street price under $400 I would buy one.

Hey, westtexasred. Have you tried those 70's tributes with maple neck and newly constructed mini humbuckers which are also discontinued? I think this line is totally underrated and will be sought by players in some period of time. I suspect that those new alnico mini humbuckers are some of the best pickups that were designed by Gibson.

Thanks. These are such awesome guitars. I'm glad I was able to find one. I'm really loving the P90s.
