i think Â£140 for a fulltone distortion pro is as high as i've gone, i tend to buy stuff second hand.

Excluding an M9 I bought new ($350), I paid $230 for a Vox DelayLab (still have it), but I got a rebate offer, which helped knock down the price a bit.

in a related note, I once spent about Â£8 (including postage) on a CA3080 chip for a Ross Compressor project. Which is probably the most I've ever spent on a single component

I paid Â£300 for an M13, though that's saved me an awful lot of money as I haven't bought another pedal since.

For an individual effect I think after customs fees and the comedy tax I paid around Â£220 for the WMD Gieger Counter.

Do you guys have to pay VAT on imports?

Here they don't bother collecting it until it's fifty bucks. So anything under about $400 NZ slides in free.
Musical stuff doesn't have any duty added though, which is cool.

In the UK? Yup. Unless what you buying is less than about Â£15 (can't remember the exact figure off the top of my head). We also get stung for an admin fee by the delivery company for having to collect the VAT.

Edit: this only applies to goods from outside the EU. We can import from Germany, France etc without any issues.

Is the Gieger Counter good? Can you use it as a fuzz/distortion, or is it all noises? It looks the bomb.

i think my EHX DMM was 250-300 on here, maybe with a partial trade, i have had like 3 of them so im not sure.
i know the most i have ever paid for a single effect at a store was 89.99 for the dano cool cat back in 98 or 99. it was such a great chorus pedal, im not really sure what happened to it tho.....

Same here... mine was either $125 or $150 (Cdn)... can't remember exactly anymore.

fulltone clyde deluxe wah. payed 160 for it. Closest to that was 140 I think for an MBM build.
