NGD 1964 Fender Jaguar

Post by HNB »

I saw this in the FS section and was able to pick it up. I really like it a lot. Rhythm switch wasn't working, so I installed a new switchcraft one (kept the original one). The volume and tone pots were in the opposite positions, so I put them back to normal places. The bridge had been cut on the front side. I have it, but swapped in a different bridge for now. I wanted to put a mastery on it, but it wouldn't fit with the mute on and I wanted to leave that on. It used to have a sunburst finish from what I see in the neck pocket. It is nice and light. Pickguard is sweet! Still has pretty much all it's original parts. Neck is awesome! It came with the original case. Pickups are good. Interesting that the magnets are not all level. Low teeth are on the low E and A strings. I am set to have Danocaster refin it for me in an aged white finish once I get some sandpaper to prep it. Should be really awesome! Here are the pictures.

Looks awesome, try a staytrem bridge, it might work with the mute

Amazing – particularly that gorgeous tort!

I'd be tempted to leave the body as it is.

Thanks! Anyone know for sure if a staytrem works with a jaguar mute? Could be a good option.

Second that. No, third that (just saw Aaron's post). The butterscotch wood, antique ivory pups, and the tort harmonize so well...plus, a matching headstock? Don't get much better'n that, friend.

Cheers,
Doug

I know that a Fender bridge cover fits on a Staytrem bridge, which implies it's the same dimensions as the stock one.

The staytrem does not work with a mute because the posts on the staytrem are wider, you have to widen the holes on the mute.

Fun fact, you can send your stock bridge and have it modified, I had it done with a couple and it worked out well. That said he swaps the trem legs, so not sure if that stops you from using the mute.

Good information to consider. I am still bonding with it at the moment. :) Not sure if I will paint or not. Danocaster does such awesome looking finishes it seemed like an no brainer. :)
