A friend of mine is looking a case to keep his new resonator in around the house. Is there any such thing as a decent generic case or are they generally made to fit specific models?
Is there anywhere else we should be looking other than thomann?
Decent Cheap Generic Acoustic Hardcase

What's his price range?
This is one damn fine case for the money. $59.00 is the price now, but I paid $53.00 for mine, must have been on sale or used a coupon. I replaced most of my cheap ass cardboard cases with these.

I'd been doing a similar search recently and had my eye on this...

Seems the cheapest / most decent looking case I could find for the money.
Dread size would probably cover your needs, fits most things other than jumbo or slim bodied things, but there may be some excess room. Occasionally a strap or whatever will limit the untoward movement inside, or beer towel if more extreme.
I reckon judging by how much I juggle guitars around in various cases, then you may be best lookin at Classical case proportions if it's the usual resonator type shape. I would find a case that you like and ask the maker for dimensions, or look on their website.
