I'm glad it came out so good and everyone likes it. I'm gonna retire from the building for quite a while now.

Grohl has a signature Gibson in Pelham Blue called the DG-335, based on the vintage Trini Lopez he uses in the studio.

Nah. It's a Starcaster.

Needs Radiohead or Killers. Cafe Tacuba if he's feeling exotic.

Nah. It's a Starcaster.

He's still referring to the Grohl signature, as if to say "the ES-335 shape/time machine to introduce it a decade earlier were Gibson's responses to Fender's groundbreakingly original Starcaster design, so I'm still right if you think about it".

Ah! speaking of this guitar! I took it to guitar center on new years to find a hard case for it and you wouldn't believe the way the employees reacted with trying to figure out what it was. I was dying of laughter. I never even told them and left. The one guy was like "isnt it a starcaster?" Other.. "no its uh. ah. um grrr one of the coronados. no. one of those new... i dont know." Me and my friend just sat there trying an orange amp with it and they kept walking by talking to eachother. Wish I would of video taped it.

Yeah. An 335 case was the only case that would work. But they wanted $175 :/

So.. I sold this guitar to Casey Crescenzo of The Dear Hunter. It's actually getting played now and played extremely well haha. He recorded some of his new album with it and he's using it on tour. Here's a picture I found on Instagram of their sold out show last night.
