Anyone tried the recent Mex-made Charvel Pro Mod Series ?

Talk about all other types of guitars. Jazzmasters and basses go here!

Thinking about getting something like this, as it would be nice to have a guitar purely based on performance.. and I'm generally quite into my 80s things too.

Second Choice would be this:

I heard they used to be made in Japan but since the Tsunami production has uncontrollably ceased. Shame !!

Are they on par with those or worth finding an older Japanese variant ?

Anyways, be interested to hear your verdicts... might even consider getting them into the shop I work at, as they're supplied (& possibly made ?) by Fender (Mexico)

cheers

a good friend of mine only rocks charvel's
they aren't my scene, but if I had to go back to playing a "super-strat" it'd probably be one of them.

solidly built guitars, and amazing sound, even stock.

sadly the only audio/video i have of him rocking it is a shitty iPhone video from their gig the other night..

However, you can hear it quite well on their studio tracks..

the new ep (Second foundation) has a second guitarist, rocking an SG, so you might want to just check out the "The Mange" Album for tonezzzz
