Hey guys. This is my first post here. I'm a long time appreciator of short-scale and oddball Fender and Fenderish guitars. Anyway, I picked up a Squier Cyclone from a friend of mine a month or so ago. I already have a Fender Cyclone in original condition, and I wasn't digging the new one too much so I made some changes. I'm pretty proud of how it came out.
Thanks, man. Those are actually a set of Gretsch pups I've had kicking around for a while. Not sure what they came out of, but I got a pretty good deal on them and I love the sound. Tons of high end sparkle but with a really beautifully filled out low and middle. Anyone got much experience with the GFS sets? Considering them for another build. Anyway, I've liked the black on black look for a long time on strats and tele deluxes, so I'm glad I applied it to something more my preference.
Thanks everyone. The Cyclone was actually sort of my gateway drug into short-scale Fenders. I fell in love with them about ten years ago from the pictures in the MusiciansFriend catalog, and had a mild obsession with them ever since. As I said, this is one of two I have. The other's a 2006 Fender in yellow. I intend to keep that one stock, since it was sort of my holy grail guitar for so long.

Wow! TVJones pickups? This Cyclone seems to belong to the Fender BlackTop series now LOL
