That thinline with minibucker in the neck is super classytimhulio wrote:Plain ol' MIM Telecaster Standard. Now built to a very high standard! A lightly used one is the same price as a Squier CV (mine was £270). Fit and finish are superb, and it has the modern 6-saddle bridge with no sharp edges. The tuners are lovely. Altogether a really fuss-free Tele.
Which Telecaster?

edit: what is that little dude on top of the bandmaster in the background? It looks like a tiny little Hot Rod.

Or the neck pickup. However, you need to make sure one of the wires isn't connected to the pickup cover or baseplate. You can perform some minor surgery to add a separate ground wire to do this job, or buy one which already has three wires. I bought a neck pickup from Oil City Pickups - handwound pups from East London (not Canvey Island, sadly - he must get that a lot) and requested a separate earth wire. It's a pretty good sounding Tele neck pickup.DGNR8 wrote:A guy on TDPRI (Googled) said to swap the bridge pickup wires.

Both of my Teles are wired in a busted version of the standard 4-way switching:
1) series
2) neck
3) out of phase
4) bridge

Not the music artist make. But for my playing, its not my guitar. I been playing telecasters at the store, but no.dezb1 wrote:weeping_moon wrote:nothing!
i hate the look and feel of a telecaster, and even the sound, my opinion.
That's a huge amount of music you don't like the sound of...
And i dont judge telecaster for others, but for me its a no.
The best looking tele is the Cobain tele in blue he painted for himself.
A 2 humbucker tele i never tried, but i guess the body in my hands would feel wrong.
Nothing more to say.

I have been Jonezing for a telecaster as well, adn I m not totally happy with any extant offering so I had to do an mockup:
i think I create the best possible thinline telecaster
The "shitburst" paint scheme + the CBS headstock really makes this thing look great. I'd probably go w. hot rail in the bridge but thats not an option so just kinda imagine it in there
