True on both accounts.
The Fender PR FAIL aside, the amp sounds fairly decent.

Not weird at all. It's like musical instrument brochures from the late 19th century/early 20th century. Gibson especially, but not only.
Which is what they were going for with this amp I guess.
What is that super cool tele there?

It was easily worth it for that.

In spite of everything else, those guitars both look fantastic. I don't know when Fender started using the Guild name to make something other than boring acoustic guitars, but I dig it.

this amp has:
4 less watts
1 less 6L6 tube
3" less speaker diameter
1 less input jack
than an excelsior amp in the same line of amplification. costs 400 street. 150 more than the excelsior

Quality video beats the usual fat bloke looking into the camera frothing at the mouth playing endless blues scales... best thing though was the Guild.

Presumably this turns Fender's bullshit marketing spiel into a breathable cloud of mojofarts?
