NGD Daphne Blue Jaguar
I won an eBay auction earlier this week. It is scheduled to arrive Saturday. Pretty stoked. Seller put a Mustang bridge on it. It had sold once and was returned because of what was later discovered to be a loose wire causing the bridge pickup not to work. Seller had a Seymour Duncan Antiquity bridge pickup installed in its place but is including the stock bridge pickup as well as the stock bridge.
I am not finding a lot of info on Japanese Jaguar colors. I have seen that Sonic Blue and Sonic Blue with a matching headstock has been done before there. Not much mention of a Daphne Blue one. He says when he ordered it from Japan it was listed as a custom color, but I am always skeptical about it. I suppose it could be Sonic Blue and misslabled as Daphne? It doesn't have a matching headstock.
Here are listing pictures. Looks like Daphne Blue to me. Too dark for Sonic Blue IMHO.

Looks like it has US knobs on it too, maybe it has CTSs. Could just be the knobs though, CTS shafts would require an American/drilled Japanese control plate.

I have them in rotation to make sure each gets a turn. As cheesy as it sounds, having a bunch of Jaguars isn't odd to me because I feel like playing different ones at different times or when I want to play certain music. Sometimes I feel like playing sunburst, sometimes fiesta red. It is sort of like clothing where some days I feel like certain colors and other times not. I match them to my mood and music at the time. I still need a black Jaguar now that I think about it. I also don't have a green one at the moment other than my VM Squier that is Surf Green. I suppose there are just too many colors to really have them all realistically, but I do have my favorite colors.
Oh and I am fairly positive I have more than twenty five. Aside from my three wall mounted rows in my guitar room, I have around five or six vintage ones in cases under the wall racks and a seven guitar floor rack and a two guitar stand.
While I can only play one at a time, the one I want to play isn't normally the same each day.

Nope, I really like that one. I might do some part changing though. (Tremolo, Bridge, Electronics, etc.) The body and neck are great. Technically the other parts are too, but I baby it worrying about the parts that could be less durable when I shouldn't. Totally a psychological thing I am sure. They are excellent guitars really.sunshiner wrote:You do love Jags, but why do I think that your VM Jag is now about to go?
So, I think then you should play shit out of it. Guitar will be grateful to youHNB wrote:Technically the other parts are too, but I baby it worrying about the parts that could be less durable when I shouldn't. Totally a psychological thing I am sure. They are excellent guitars really.

Looks awesome! One of my Jaguars is that same colour (albeit with a matching headstock), it was an identical colour to my 69-reissue Mustang which Fender Japan called sonic blue. I'd agree it is definitely closer to the 60's daphne blue though.
The non-matching headstock is great too! I've thought about buying a different neck to stick on mine many time just to get that look.
